(Between week 5 and week 6)
Between these two sessions I prepared my draft proposal (uploaded) and did some preparation for my project.
I also downloaded a 30-day trial of Flash which was the CS3 version. After installing I noticed that it looks a bit different to the version (Flash
that we are using, which is just one version behind the trial I downloaded. So I spent some time looking around the interface to find out where all the controls were. I noticed a couple of extra drawing tools (at least) these were the primeval oval and rectangle tools. I had a play with these in order to see if I could work out what they did. They do not perform the same as the shapes I am used to, but they did seem to have an interesting geometric application where you can cut quarters etc out of them.
I consulted my tutor to find out how I would work in CS3 and move my project between the classroom and home. He told me that Flash projects can be saved from CS3 as Flash 8 movies – but you can only ever go one version back with Flash – so that will be fine as long as I remember when saving to ’save As’ Flash 8 and all the work should be transferrable.

Unfortunately I have yet to try the new version of Flash (CS3) but I am sure most of the key features we have looked at in class (on version
are easily accessible on your demo.
